The launch of Robinhood's Layer-2 blockchain for tokenized stocks may be getting close, with data miners pointing to new public clues around a possible upcoming announcement.
Speculation is picking up because the June 19 Robinhood Chain request to add Robinhood Chain to DefiLlama, a DeFi analytics platform that tracks blockchain networks and protocol data, came from robinhood-gilbert, a GitHub account publicly connected to Robinhood Markets, the company's verified GitHub organization.
- Some believe Robinhood could make the announcement on July 1, when the company is set to host "The World is Flat," a London livestream where Robinhood chairman and CEO Vlad Tenev is expected to present new products around "markets beyond borders."
Robinhood, the retail brokerage and crypto app, hasn't announced an official mainnet date, and the rumored asset list hasn't been confirmed by the company.
What Robinhood has said
Announced in June 2025, Robinhood Chain is pitched as Robinhood's own Ethereum Layer-2 for tokenized stocks, exchange-traded funds and other real-world assets.
Robinhood launched the public testnet in February, calling Robinhood Chain a financial-grade Ethereum Layer-2 built on Arbitrum, an Ethereum scaling network, and designed for tokenized real-world and digital assets.
- Infrastructure providers, including Alchemy, a blockchain developer platform, Allium, a blockchain data provider, Chainlink, an oracle network, LayerZero, an interoperability protocol, and TRM Labs, a blockchain intelligence firm, were already integrating with the chain.
Robinhood has already launched tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs for eligible European Union customers, first through Arbitrum, with its own blockchain planned as the next step.
