Uniswap unleashed over 11K tokens on Robinhood Chain in one day. Almost everything launched that week has gone quiet

Robinhood Chain had its biggest-ever day for new tokens just as Uniswap launched its own token factory. Weeks later, only about 1% of the chain's tokens born that week were still trading.

How it works

Uniswap's token launchpad produced more than 11,000 tokens on Robinhood Chain in a single day, helping push the network to a record. But new data suggests almost everything launched across the chain that week has since gone quiet.

  • Pools.trade, a token launchpad built by Uniswap Labs, generated 11,437 tokens on Aug. 5, according to Bitquery data.
  • That was the same day Uniswap publicly introduced the platform, and the same day Robinhood Chain recorded an all-time high 18,795 new tokens receiving their first market, according to data first published on Sunday by The Pond Street Ledger.

Put together, the two datasets suggest pools.trade accounted for roughly 61% of all tokens launched on Robinhood Chain on its busiest-ever day.

Almost everything from that week went quiet

The burst didn't translate into much lasting trading activity, though. As The Pond Street Ledger found, Robinhood Chain produced over 71,000 tokens during the week beginning Aug. 3.

As of Aug. 30, only about 1% were trading during the previous 24 hours.

That doesn't mean 99% of Uniswap-launched tokens died. The Pond Street measured the entire Robinhood Chain cohort for that week, while the 11,437 figure covers pools.trade launches specifically on Aug. 5.

The survival figure is also an estimate rather than a census
The Pond Street sampled 400 tokens from each weekly cohort, while its token launch counts are complete. It considers a token active if it traded during the previous 24 hours, meaning tokens described as inactive could theoretically start trading again.

The decay across Robinhood Chain appears particularly steep during the first days. Just 8% of sampled tokens aged one to two days had traded during the latest 24-hour period, falling to 4.3% among those two to three days old.

Across tokens more than a week old, the overall survival rate at 1.55%, or roughly one in 65, the report reads.

A chain built for financial assets

Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum Layer-2 network launched publicly on July 1, was pitched by the brokerage giant as an "AI-native" blockchain "purpose-built for real-world assets" and built to institutional standards.

Uniswap was one of its launch partners and serves as a primary public liquidity protocol.

A little more than a month later, Uniswap Labs launched Pools, promising permissionless token creation with no launchpad fees and permanently locked liquidity. Bitquery says its two entry contracts together processed 11,437 launches on Aug. 5 alone.

While the result doesn't show that Pools itself has a 99% failure rate, it does show how much of Robinhood Chain's record token-production day came from Uniswap's new launchpad and how little trading activity remained across the broader cohort only weeks later.
