Strategy, the Bitcoin treasury company chaired by Michael Saylor, is selling Bitcoin-themed Nike Air Jordans for $250, exactly the amount it pledged last month to contribute each year to Trump Accounts for eligible children of its U.S. employees.

- The sneakers, listed by the company as "Strategy Nike Air Jordans," feature Strategy and Bitcoin branding on an Air Jordan 1-style silhouette.
- As CoinDesk pointed out, Bitcoin itself can't be used to buy the Strategy-themed sneakers from the Bitcoin treasury giant, with checkout limited to cards and Apple Pay.
- The $250 price also puts them at the expensive end of Jordan footwear.
A review of Nike's U.S. online store by The Coinformer on Sept. 9 found Strategy's $250 pair is priced well above comparable Air Jordan 1 models sold directly by Nike.
A standard men's Air Jordan 1 Low was listed at $120 and the Air Jordan 1 Mid at $130, while current Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG models were priced at $185.
That makes Strategy's Jordans about 35% more expensive than Nike's $185 Retro High OG and roughly 92% more expensive than the standard $130 Mid.
The other $250
The matching number comes just over a month after Strategy announced on Aug. 5 that it would contribute $250 annually to a Trump Account for every eligible child under 18 of its U.S. employees, regardless of the child's birth year.
- For children born on or after Jan. 1, 2025, Strategy also pledged a one-time $1,000 contribution matching the federal government's seed payment.
- Trump Accounts, a new type of individual retirement account for children created under legislation enacted in 2025, can also receive employer contributions.
Still, it creates an unusual comparison as buying one pair of Strategy's Bitcoin Jordans costs exactly as much as the company has pledged to put into one eligible employee child's account each year.
Strategy, the world's largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, currently reports holding more than 845,000 BTC.
- The Coinformer reached out to Strategy for comments and will update the story once and if the company responds.
