The time traders spend holding speculative Solana tokens has continued to shrink, with new on-chain data suggesting some positions now last less than a minute.
A Dune dashboard maintained by 108Capital shows the median holding time for wallets that buy a token and fully sell it again within seven days has fallen to about 42 seconds, down from roughly 347 seconds in 2024.

The measure is narrower than the average holding time for every token owner on Solana as it tracks completed short-term round trips in SOL-paired decentralized-exchange pools, including activity across Pump.fun, Raydium, Meteora, Orca, Jupiter and several other venues.
From minutes to seconds
The trend had already attracted attention earlier this year when the same metric fell to around 58 seconds. The latest reading suggests the acceleration has continued, cutting another roughly 28% from that level.
The dashboard excludes positions held for more than seven days, meaning it is primarily a measure of Solana's fastest-moving speculative activity rather than long-term ownership.
- Solana has become particularly associated with that high-velocity market.
- Platforms such as Pump.fun have dramatically reduced the friction involved in creating and trading new tokens, while bots and trading terminals compete to identify and buy launches within seconds.
Still, the decline offers a glimpse at how much the character of on-chain trading has changed as memecoin launchpads, trading bots and increasingly automated execution have made it possible to enter and exit newly launched tokens almost instantly.
